The Seton Celebration is an important tradition that allows us to honor a special group of champions who dedicate themselves to the legacy and core mission of Ascension Saint Thomas. It also raises funds for improved community health, serving those who are most in need. But just as important, this event represents a time to come together and celebrate around our shared values.
The Seton Society was established in 1991 by the Daughters of Charity. The Seton Society recognizes and pays tribute to those physicians, nurses, health care workers, and community volunteers who demonstrate excellence in their professions and in their service to Ascension Saint Thomas and the greater Nashville community. These individuals emulate the award’s namesake, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, who devoted her life to social ministry and volunteering.
Each year, the Ascension Saint Thomas Foundation hosts the Seton Celebration event to celebrate these individuals who make a difference. This black tie-optional gala includes dinner and a program highlighting the work of the current year’s honorees.
